About two weeks ago Austin was going through his Xbox games and found one of his old favorite games...
However due to dogs, children, just plain not being taken care of.... this disc is scratched like some one played kick the can with it.
I consider myself a hard but fair parent, ~~"you didn't take care of it & now its ruined, so you either pay to have it fixed or you buy a new one".
And for those who know our kids know that they are also always BROKE! They earn money through turning in their tokens, but tokens also have to be paid for Xbox time, TV time etc.
They also have been earning extra money at Shari's this summer helping her with Ashlee's kids while she is completing her community service, but they spend as fast as they can earn!
He really, really wanted a this game so I made him a deal... If I bought one online he would pay me back for the game and shipping.
And there you have it Moms back into the EBay scene again~ "I LOVE EBAY!!"
The search is on.. there are a few listings (buy it now), all about $10-$15 with shipping! But this is EBAY!!
We find one with a few days remaining starting bid $0.99 & $4 shipping, I got so excited I placed a bid~ max bid $4.
Austin is still trying to grasp the "waiting & bidding"... we check back that night, YAY still highest bidder! 3 days remaining! I check it again before work YEP still highest bidder (but we know that most bids are within the last 12 hours) 2.5 days to go! We checked each morning and each night until about the last 5 hours and then the heat was on, someone out bid us! AHHH so I bid again max bid $8 (damn why did I do that) realizing after I click the bid button that if it goes to my max Ive just overpaid but sometimes that auction feeling just gets in your blood!!
2 hours remain we are highest bidders at $5.50 + $4 shipping its 11p.m. and I'm mad that I outbid the buy it now price, and I'm going to bed... If I pay $12 then so be it, If I get out bid good!
Wake up next day (19jul09)... check eBay yay we won and it stayed at $5.50 Wahoo! I quickly pay for the item, read the shipping terms *items shipped usually 24/hrs after payments received* AND THEN I SEE IT... ejunkulator (0) I panic a little, I'm usually SO anal about checking feedback ratings, but I figure we are all new once so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
1st day goes by...... no feed back left for me........................................
2nd day goes by..... expecting item to have been marked as shipped by now for sure!!.....still nothing
3rd day... now I'm irritated so I emailed the seller, Have you shipped it yet??? ....
4th day.....still no response, no feed back... nothing
5th day..... glad I paid with PayPal and they will reimburse me if I don't get it, wondering if I'm jumping the gun with this "I just got ripped off feeling", and really sad that it had to happen to my 11 year old kid!!

Did you ever get your item? (The rest of the story??????) I love ebay too. But you do have to be careful. I get into the bidding frenzy and can’t stop. Hopefully you'll get what you paid for and even if you don’t it will be a teaching opportunity for your son.
